The actual train runs through the European Alps in southwestern Switzerland, spanning two railway companies, the Rhaetian Railway and the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, from Zermatt to St. Moritz, taking a leisurely eight-hour journey and gaining popularity as a panoramic tourist train offering magnificent views of the Alps. In 2019, an even higher-class "Excellence Class" was introduced, bringing changes to the existing passenger carriages.
